The Arts Fuse is helping discover the Arts in Boston

Since 2007, Bill Marx and The Arts Fuse have brought arts journalism to Greater Boston and the world as arts criticism and commentary from mainstream media outlets has decreased.

The Arts Fuse is dedicated to creating an online space for thoughtful criticism and commentary as well as to spark conversation and greater participation in the arts and entertainment in New England. They cover dance, film, literature, music, television, theater, video games, and visual arts.

They now have more than 60 contributing writers and critics, including Jonathan Blumhofer, Terry Byrne, Debra Cash, Steve Elman, Helen Epstein, Roberta Silman, and many more: For a full list on contributors, visit: http://artsfuse.org/arts-infusers-editors-and-contributors/senior-contributors/

Artsfuse.org receives more than 25,000 visits per month and it’s growing each month.

With the sad closing of The Boston Phoenix, The Arts Fuse wants to launch its first advertising campaign on taxi tops across Boston to help more people learn about the online arts magazine and increase its readership and community.

Any donations will go directly to our four-week taxi-top advertising campaign to run during April and May 2013.

Donate today and when you see the ads atop taxis in Boston in the coming weeks, you will know you responsible for helping Boston’s arts journalism offerings evolve into the 21st century.

Women in Sports and Events hosting symposium at Syracuse University

Women in Sports and Events (WISE) is a nationally recognized group whose goal is to be a leading voice and resource for women who currently work in, or aspire to be a part of the professional field of sports and events.

In 2009, Syracuse University was voted in as the first collegiate chapter of Women in Sports & Events (WISE). As the inaugural collegiate chapter, students are continuing to establish the benchmark by which all future organizations will be measured. Their weekly meetings offer members the opportunity to gain valuable insights and networking benefits that will provide them with a competitive advantage in their future careers. Their mission is to give young women the experience, network connections and understanding of the industry that will propel their careers forward upon graduation.

This year they will host our second annual Word to the WISE symposium that will include: Joe DeSena (CEO, Spartan Race), Patti Fallick (Director of Broadcast Operations, MLB Network), Shana Gritsavage (Director of Global Events, Under Armour), Amy Hobbs (Development Director, National Wheelchair Basketball Association), Laurie Orlando (Senior VP, Talent Development & Planning, ESPN), Deane Swanson (Director of Content, ESPN Global X Games), Circe Wallace (Senior VP, Wasserman Media Group) and Mary Wittenberg (CEO and President, New York Road Runners)

All of these exceptional leaders will share their stories, successes, and insights to various aspects of the sports industry. This is a great opportunity for your company to generate exposure and be part of the education process of students within the sporting and events industries.  Donations will help ensure the continued success of this annual event as we strive to uphold the mission of WISE. The money will be used to offset the costs of the event and make it possible. The event is open to over 350 students across Syracuse University and will impacts numerous students.

If you would like to learn more about the event please contact Alexandra Ayres, President of WISE-SU, at anayres@syr.edu.
